About Matthew Maddox

Matthew comes to the practice of law with a natural drive to advocate, protect and seek solutions. He was raised this way from the earliest of ages. His childhood and adolescence made him believe in redemption and second chances and the urge to advocate for underdogs. He learned about fairness and resilience and fighting for what’s fair. The Maddox Law Firm approaches every new client and every case with these fundamental philosophies always driving your representation.  Matthew Maddox guides, protects and advocates for the criminally accused and the seriously injured.  He fights relentlessly for the underdog.

Matthew graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and earned a law degree from Suffolk University in 1990.   Since then, in criminal defense, he has managed cases ranging from Reckless Driving to Murder and everything in between.   His representation of the seriously injured spans cases ranging from herniated discs and broken limbs to the tragedy of wrongful death.

Matthew is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the Fairfield County Bar Association.  He is a frequent speaker to schools, parent associations and corporations on legal and social issues.  He is a member of the Stamford Juvenile Review Board and an advisor to the Darien Blue Wave Council and the Ram Council Foundation, both youth-led organizations devoted to health and abstinence from alcohol and drugs.

Stephen Lebedevitch

Attorney

Stephen chose to work in criminal defense because he “believes everyone deserves proper representation when something as important as their liberty is at stake”.  With years of experience in both civil and criminal law, including DUI, drug possession, domestic violence and other criminal matters. Stephen has conducted both jury and court trials as well as briefed and argued cases in both the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Court.

Stephen successfully represented an individual who was wrongfully denied the assistance of the public defender’s office, having his conviction overturned, and protecting his constitutional right to counsel. Stephen has also represented clients who committed crimes as juveniles before the Connecticut Board of Pardons and Parole as the result of “second look” legislation instituted in the wake of the United States Supreme Court’s decision in Graham v. Florida.

After earning a BA at Providence College and Master’s Degree in Political Science from Southern Connecticut State University, Stephen graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law with Pro Bono Honors.   He was also a member of the Sports Law Society.  Currently a resident of Fairfield, Connecticut, where he lives with his wife and two sons, Stephen never tires of helping others, and takes great satisfaction in representing and guiding those who are unfamiliar with the judicial process.

Stephen is admitted to practice in Connecticut as well as the United States Supreme Court.
