What Are You Plans After the Bombardment?

It's a bombardment: the nonstop news about every new case, every new fever and sneeze.

I don't mean that the cultural, societal and economic, let alone the healthcare consequences of COVID 19, should be taken lightly. The way things outside our control have developed, we have no choice.

We're taking COVID 19 seriously here at The Maddox Law Firm. We understand and are doing everything possible to "flatten the curve". Flattening the curve means limiting the projected number of COVID 19 cases, and especially COVID-19 hospitalizations.

Even more specifically, we will avoid large gatherings, and keep six feet away from other people when interacting with them. That's so that the community spread of COVID 19 is slowed and so that we can protect our most vulnerable: the elderly and people with respiratory ailments and immune deficiencies.

But, my point about making plans is this: COVID 19 will be managed.

The Swine Flu was managed. SARS was managed. Other historical outbreaks that prompted hysterical behavior were managed and their impacts were blunted.

And life went on.

The word "unprecedented" is being used a lot to describe COVID 19 and what's happening in the world right now. The fact is that virus outbreaks and pandemics have occurred throughout world history. What's unprecedented is social media's and the news industry's coverage of this particular episode and our reactions.

That's why I asked what your plans are once the bombardment subsides.

We're pursuing every plan at The Maddox Law Firm that we had before the first COVID cough was reported outside of China. None of our plans or our mission to protect, advocate and defend will change.

And we're planning what comes next after the shouting subsides, for our Team and for the people who seek our representation.

To our readers, I urge you to stay the course. Make plans. Put your next vacation on the calendar. Sketch out what you're going to build or create next.

Call your friends and neighbors. Check on them. Write letters. Send notes. Email. Text.

And be prepared for the sun to continue rising and for life to continue to thrive.
